Late Victorian Hairstyle- Could be used for Miss Havisham or Estella

Late Victorian Hairstyle- Could be used for Miss Havisham or Estella

You will need:

Pin Tail Comb
Hair Grips
Hair elastic
Hair Tongs

Method:

Use your pin tail comb to create a centre parting.

Then section off the hair from the centre parting down to the ears and grip out of the way.

In the rest of the hair section off a horse shoe section of hair and tie it into a ponytail using a hair elastic.

Split the ponytail hair into a few sections and curl them into ringlets using the tongs.

Backcomb the tops of the curls slightly to give them more volume.

Roll the curls and pin them using hair grips. You can roll the curls inwards, back on themselves or twist them to create your desired look.

Curl the hair that is below the horse shoe shape.

Curl the hair in medium sized sections and curl the hair towards the face, so that the curls on each half of the head go the same way.

Then break up the curls if you want to and pin them up into the horse shoe shaped section of hair.

Split the hair on each side at the front so that there is a top and bottom section on each side.

Split the top sections into two or three and curl the hair almost like your putting rollers in and secure with grips.

Split the bottom sections into two or three and curl backwards away from the face.

Then comb the bottom sections together and pull back continuing the jaw line and grip into place,
you can leave some curl at the ends hanging down if you want to.

Comb the top sections together and push up to create a wave shape and pin into place.

Hair aging:

You can use products such as dry shampoo and talc to make the hair go grey/white in colour, you may need to use hairspray as well to keep it in place. Also you can use Supracolor or Aquacolor and apply them using a sponge, mascara wand or toothbrush. You may want to use pale skin colours instead of white on screen because sometimes white can give a blue tint on screen. Alternatively you can use Skin Illustrators Hair Aging Kit and mix the colour with alcohol.
